I am a biostatistician and the principle investigator of a 20-year study of free-ranging bottlenose dolphins in the seas off St Petersburg, Florida, USA. I document dolphin behavior before, during and after major coastal construction, discover fantastic cultural behaviors, and study how dolphins heal wounds (mostly from shark bites) without medical intervention. Process: We first meet for a free consultation and see if we are a good fit. If we are, I send you an invoice listing the services and my proposed fee. If you agree, your paid good faith deposit puts you in line behind my current clients. Once I start the work, you receive a review copy in 7-10 working days on most projects. You show your approval by paying your balance. I send you final formatted copy to add to your publication or dissertation with PowerPoint slides of your results. Then we hold a 2-hour review meeting to thoroughly examine and explain all results to you.
If you are a graduate student, I also prepare you for your final defense. Before I started statistical consulting 12 years ago, I served as a professor and dean of statistics and research. I served on 83 dissertation committees, all successful graduates. I know the types of questions that can arise. I help you practice answering questions that could come up, identify talking points for your conclusions and discussion, and everything else I find to be useful to you.
Whereas I mainly analyze data and write up results, I also often help before and after you collect your data. Before you collect, I help by developing or refining data collection methods (e.g., write clear and analyzable research questions, design a productive data collection strategy, develop your survey, etc.). After you collect, I can help identity the most important findings and how to frame them in the discussion.
